Here Comes the Week

Kickoff to the Week!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I mistakenly didn’t put this post up last night, and honestly didn't fouc much on it last week… so it’s a kickoff to the week rather than a close to the weekend—I’ll mesh it into gratitude Monday.

How was your weekend? Do anything exciting? That football game was… something to say the least. Thank god I had study calculus questions to do while I watched. Did your team win?

Have a good Monday!!!

Some of my favorite links this week---

Some of the best conversations I have had with my mom have begun with a question that asks about the real person behind the guise of motherhood. I cherish these conversations and look forward to many more.

Because David Beckham is always so damn attractive that this is just the icing on the cake.

Extra Virgin Suicide (olive oil, don’t worry guys!)

And my new favorite blog this week---

Clementine Daily

Some gratitude---

I am grateful to live streaming of a terrible football game, but one that has awesome commercials.

I am grateful to bananas and peanut butter, oatmeal and chocolate, How I Met Your Mother and tea.

I am grateful to a good friend being a great party buddy.

I am grateful for wonderful discounts from great photographers.

I am grateful for preplanning and preparation.

I am grateful for coffee on a cloudy day

But most importantly this week, I am grateful for time.

I plan to spend this new lunar season opening my heart to love and possibilities, clearing my mind of the negative clutter and energy. Join me?

Have a fabulous start to the week!

Gratitude Mondays ~ 1.27.14

Peace, Love, and Dancing in Your Underwear

This weekend, I left the blinds up, put on some true soul, love songs and shimmied until I realized other people could see me through the window. Those fleeting moments were so filled with excitement and energy, I was able to laugh at myself and shake my head a little. There I was, standing in my underwear, shaking all over, probably looking like I just saw a mouse, but not having felt that alive in months.

I wish all life felt that way; the moments of true passion before the disturbing decent of reality. It would be nice to see more and more people doing things for themselves rather than for the likes of other. Of course I don’t mean volunteering or offering a helping hand. I’m referring to dressing for others, speaking the thoughts of another person, writing and typing after being told what one does is wrong. There is no right way to live. Just be exactly who you want to be, breathe, and try and be happy!

I am grateful for that spontaneous dance.

I am grateful for hours and hours of relaxing yoga that helped me through last week.

I am grateful for my beautiful Mother, who is the best publisher, writer, and personal therapist in all the land.

I am grateful for group messages that keep me in the loop, long dinners, and plenty of laughter.

I am grateful for Netflix and the show How I Met Your Mother.

I am grateful for understanding my math notes and knowing how to do an in-depth problem.

I am grateful for people who respond quickly to my frazzled emails.

I am grateful for those who stay by my side even when it’s displaying my crazy.

I am grateful for the sun, the moon, and the stars.

I am grateful for the beauty of the gesture and word, Namaste~ the perfect light in me honors and exists with the perfect light in you.

Gratitude Mondays ~ 1.20.14

photo-1.jpg

Flashback to my incredible trip to Vancouver, Canada. I am grateful for many things… one of them being spell check, because I never knew that grateful wasn’t spelled greatful. Huh. Since it is Monday, and my New Years Resolutions include giving thanks, love, and gratitude all year long, I’m kicking off the first Gratitude Monday on the blog. Just a few loves and well wishes to start the week off on a good note, rather than an oh-my-gosh-it’s-Monday note.

I love that I get the best sunrises on my early walks to the gym.

This morning's sunrise over the practice field near Miller Center.

And that my camera takes great pictures to capture the best friendships.

Twinning with G! Love my Tye-Dye Nation.

Coffee date with J and I first day back on campus.

Love my main girl B and our funny faces.

D and I at the Wake vs. State game.

I’m grateful for those who stood for equal rights and held their unwavering platforms graciously and with a strength rarely seen in politics or public positions these days.

I’m also very grateful that their determination grants me an extra day of my weekend.

Ahhh bed.

My gratitude extends to a working internet and the ability to read books electronically.

But mainly I’m grateful for the fabulous friendships I have, the love I have in the sacred bond of my mother-daughter relationship, and the excitement I have in my soul that keeps me discovering my dreams.
